A free iPOD by betraying your friends!

They say “It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom” , But by this latest gimmick ,It seems astonishing to me, that coherent, intelligent humans actually believe that if they give some unknown company all their friends’ personal details then they will receive something really great for free, with no strings. Now why they are so gullible is beyond me but the fact remains that they add me as one to fall hook line and sinker or that I’m a monk in a remote mountain range. The latest attempt at persuading people to sell-out their friends for a few freebies is now hitting our mailboxes .It comes from a setup calling itself ‘GetItFree‘. You go to GetItFree’s website and login with your Gmail credentials (how dense can someone be to fall for this!) then they invade your personal gmail address-book and spam your innocent friends. If you betray enough of your friends, then you might receive a free iPod. Meantime, GetItFree spam’s all your friends until they join up too, amidst offers of all sorts of free goodies. And if your buddies don’t join up first time, GetItFree continues to spam them, sorry, “remind” them to join. Why some people are so susceptible? Wake up and smell the shit (or coffee for late night surfers!) Its just another scam attempting to farm your valuable email address and gain your gmail account details… Lists of genuine email addresses are worth a lot of money. These scams coerce you to sell your friends email addresses for a gift (really is it worth more than shell some of your hard earned money, at least that way you don’t loose your friends rather they become your iPod buddy) WHY DON’T YOU READ THEIR SCAM’MY WAYS…? Terms of Service Agreement http://www.getitfree.net/index.php?target=tos Especially this bit (A) Modifications… “GetItFree reserves the right to modify or amend this Agreement at any time, for any reason, or for no reason at all, at GetItFree’s sole discretion. We also reserve the right to change the methods through which free products are earned. This may include, but is not limited to, increasing the number of friends you have to refer or adding more steps to confirm that you have a legitimate account. GetItFree may also add or remove any gift product listed as an incentive at any time. If we replace a product, the new product may not be of equal value.“ Now what does this say… You sell-out your buddies and families email address. Then GetItFree can change the agreement in whatever way it wants, whenever it pleases and you are entitled to precisely NOTHING! Great deal huh?!? In addition to this these cookies are logged from this site consumerpromotioncenter.com premiumproductsonline.com freegiftworld.com azjmp.com My advice… Read this… http://eikki-eddie.blogspot.com/2007/02/charity-for-free.html By the way, if you live in a cyber-law-enforced country, passing on other people’s personal details to third parties without their consent probably contravenes the Privacy Directive and you could face legal action.
